Mr Eric Lim specialises in surgical diseases of the chest, and the most important aspect of his career focus is patient care with an aspiration to make thoracic surgery a pain-free, acceptable experience with least disruption to patients’ lives. His clinical areas of expertise are minimally invasive (VATS lobectomy) lung surgery as well as open lung resection for cancer including sleeve resections, airway surgery, arterial reconstructions, mediastinal disorders (benign and malignant tumours), surgery for neuroendocrine tumours and small cell lung cancer, surgery for emphysema (lung volume reduction surgery), pleural effusions and pneumothoraces. Author of over 130 peer-reviewed publications, has been awarded national and international prizes, including the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery best thoracic surgery research for four consecutive years (2008-2011).
